Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When is the fair?
A: The Jefferson County Fair and Rodeo is the last full weekend in August, the weekend before Labor Day weekend. The 2008 fair is August 22-24, 2008. The 2009 fair is August 28-30, 2009.
Q: Who can enter the fair or horse show?
A: You must be a Jefferson County resident in order to enter exhibits in the fair or to enter the kid's horse show and rodeo.
Q: When are the rodeos & how much do they cost?
A: The rodeo starts at 2 on Saturday and Sunday, and costs $6 (adults) and $3 for kids (ages 6-12). The Wrangler Roundup, on Thursday at 1, is free. Admission is $2 for the Bi-County Rodeo, Friday at 5:30 pm.
Q: How do I enter the Wrangler Roundup or the sheep riding contest?
A: Call 406-225-3234 between 4 and 6 on Monday of fair & rodeo week.
Q: How do I enter the Rodeo Parade?
A: Show up at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, in front of the Baptist Church just off Main Street, to sign up. The parade starts at noon.
Q: What are the entry deadlines?
A: The fair booklet lists all deadlines and is available on this website at 2008 Fair Booklet, the local newspapers, and in local businesses in July.
Q: Is there a general admission fee for the fair?
A. There is no admission fee to the fair. There is a $2 per car parking fee.
